Problems with Wind Power
This article from the Globe and Mail is the first I've heard about possible negative effects of wind power. It makes obvious sense when you think about it: taking energy out of one part of an equation is going to effect consequent parts. I'd be shocked if the world doesn't hear a great deal about this -- thanks to the oil and gas lobbies. I've been wondering about ways to stop the polar ice cap from melting lately -- this would certainly be one way to lower the temperature there (while unfortunately heating up the temperature in the south).
Has anyone heard anything else about this? Did it receive much press when the story broke?

i haven't heard a thing about this. although there's only one wind thing that i know about here in to - by
the CNE - and i doubt that it influences much.
they might be talking about it on gabriola, where they're thinking of setting up some wind power devices.
BY THE WAY: when i spoke to marilynne robinson and gave her glowing praise, etc, she was VERY COLD and unfriendly. so smart, schmart. i thought she was arrogant and not very nice. but i'm glad she helped you.
